Time goes by so fast when we are here, I don't even remember what day we came. LOL Ummmm, oh yeah, Wednesday we headed to Michigan. Traveling with 3 kids is always interesting, but in all honesty it really wasn't that bad, well it could've been worse, hahaha. Cole and Kinsey are fabulous travelers, other than Cole asking if we are to Chicago yet, are we through Chicago yet, what time is it, what time will we be to Chicago, what time will we be there, how much longer and are we there yet. LOL And both Cole and Kinesy NEVER stop talking NEVER, but other than that, we can't complain. Kenna does pretty good too, considering the trip took us 11.5 hours and she never had a meltdown, just a couple fits, but mostly she was pretty darn good, we just cross our fingers going home goes as smoothly. Although I'm not sure when we are heading home. The construction at my parents lake house is delayed a little and Chad needs to get it roughed in, then the storms came through last night and dumped on the golf course, so.... now it is flooded and once the creek stops rising (which it hasn't yet) they/we will need to start pumping the water off. Chad has been working every day trying to help my dad get equipment maintained while getting caught up on all the mowing and spraying. I've been working in the proshop trying to give my mom some time to take care of things at the lake with the house.
But yesterday the kids and I took time to let them have some fun away from the golf course. (They absolutely love being at the course, but they do get a little stir crazy at times). So I took the kids over to play with their cousin Alaina and they had an absolute blast. It was such a beautiful day and they swam in the pool, jumped on the trampoline and thankfully rode the four wheeler and dirt bike we brought over (at least it wasn't a waste to bring them). The kids played for hours and I had a lovely time chatting with Becky. It was so nice to get the kids together, time sure flies and we just do not get to spend enough time with family!!!
The older kids are all so close in age and size, it's so cute. Alaina is 6 (she's about 4 months older than Cole) Cole is 5 and Kinsey 4. It's so cute to watch them together!

Then last night Chad and I met some friends for drinks. Too many years have passed since we last got together, we keep in touch, but time seems to past so fast that we never get together when we do get home. But last night we went to Shooters (at Duck Lake, not the strip club Shooters back in Menomonie, LOL) and it was so nice! I was pleasantly surprised when we got there to meet Jake and Dana (whom I've been friends with all my life) that Chris (another one of my really good friends from back in the day) and his sweet wife, Liddy, were also there. And as the night went on I saw friends that I graduated from high school with and haven't really seen since then...what a bonus! The storms rolled through, tornado warnings and all, didn't put a damper on the night! I look forward to spending more time with great friends when I am back in July. On most days I really don't miss it around here (I always miss being closer to my parents), but nights like last night are a fresh reminder of how much I do miss spending time with my friends and thinking about all the amazing memories we have from the summers at Duck Lake!
Well, morning light showed off what mother nature's work did in the night. Olivet Golf Club could currently be referred to as Olivet Yacht Club thanks to the creek that flows through and the terrible job the local drain commission does with keeping the creek cleaned-out and dredged further down. We are still waiting for it to stop rising then my dad will let Chad know what can be done from there. It's so sad because the course was in pristine condition, I'll get some pictures taken of the water today and share those tonight/tomorrow so everyone can see what's going on here.
