Our 4th of July weekend...

It is always hard not to be back in Michigan for the 4th of July, since that is such a huge get together at my aunt & uncle's house along with at our other friends places. But, it doesn't always work out that we can be back there for it, so we just usually lay low here and just relax. This year was no different, quiet, nothing planned, just go with the flow. Since Elk Point Resort has a fabulous fireworks display on the 3rd every year, we always head out, Chad' parents joined us, on the pontoon and joined the other 100's of boats floating around the north end of Tainter and watch the 30-40 minute show. Kinsey this year was jumping up and down with excitement. And just as soon as they were over, she was sound asleep. Cole also was ready for bed, but Kenna had caught her second wind since she was 3 hours past her bed time and had hit the "I'm absolutely miserable and fidgety stage". But she powered through and when we got home, she was happy to be in her crib and drifted off to sleep quickly.
The kids and Danny got into a really good water fight and when Kinsey finally had enough with Danny she went after him with her bucket of water just a swinging. Temper Temper Temper.

Kenna loves watermelon!!! Kinsey loves the water!!! Cole loves doing flips into the water!!!

We had a very nice dinner sitting on the deck Saturday. We grilled talapia (which Kenna loves), baby reds with red onions mushrooms and rosemary, and Kinsey's favorite sweet corn!!! The kids also prepared a nice wooden meal for us with a mud apple pie for dessert yummy. LOL
Since the weather was pretty gloomy yesterday (the 4th) we decided to head down to the farm and do some cleaning out of the barn and odds/ends around there. The girls hung out with Chad's mom, while we were getting rained on, which worked out well, but Cole always likes to be involved so he came with in the morning. Then we had a nice dinner at Chad's parents house and came home for a few fireworks in the driveway then called it a night. Ahhhhhh So nothing spectacular, but more laid back and enjoyable.
Today is a lazy day. We seem to have no motivation in this house today. Kenna is napping again and that sounds like one heck of an idea to me.
