Come September, when bow season starts, we often spend as many days as we can down on the land. A 28 foot camper with no slide-outs, but does have running water and electricity, becomes our home away from home, as often as possible anyway. The kids look forward to running free, riding their four wheelers and dirt bikes, campfires at night (roasting marshmallows) and movies in the camper. I personally enjoy being able to sleep in later and not having to waste over an hour in the truck before the rooster crows when hunting in the morning!!! I SO HATE MORNINGS!!! We love just sitting outside and watching all the wildlife around us, it's so peaceful and refreshing! We do often skip it in the summer, since it's always hotter in the country and since we live on the lake, we try to enjoy those couple months of water time as much as possible.
Anyway, the photos are not completely showing it all, but it works. Some time I will get a nice panoramic image of the land, but it wasn't yesterday.
The goose picture was taken on our way home, the daddy goose was willing to sacrifice his life for his family, he stood in the middle of the road while the youngin's crossed, then hissed at us in the truck until all was clear and then scurried off into the field to organize the family. So stinkin' cute!
